Today we went to check out the badger setts we had nicknamed the “Bluebell” and “Briar” setts last year at the far end of the wood (see links to older posts).
We were sad to see that the entrance holes had been filled in and there was little or no sign of recent activity. I guess they were deemed too close to the cattle grazing on the nearby farm but still its upsetting to see that they will have had to find a new home somewhere. This is footage from last year of the same entrance with a squirrel investigating…
Also on another sad note we have seen two dead badgers on the roads around here in the last couple of days. We hope they weren’t from these setts looking for somewhere new to live…
