Wildlife in my local patch

Hampshire UK

New badger sett

It’s very exciting when you find a new discovery in your local patch.

badger sett

We found a huge new badger sett in the most stunning location at the weekend. It’s at the edges of a sunlit beech wood on one of the highest points in our area. Standing at the edge of the wood on a clear day you can almost see to the coast (over 30 miles away) across the rolling landscape of Hampshire. It has obviously been there for a long, long time as there are many diggings covering a large area, some of which are filled in and others which are very freshly dug and have latrine areas nearby.

I set up my trail cam yesterday so stay tuned for more action…
