Wildlife in my local patch

Hampshire UK

Introduction from a Local Patch Reporter

Photo of Jackson HellewellMy name is Jackson Hellewell. I am 11 and I live in rural Mid Hampshire. I have always been interested in birds and wildlife and am lucky enough to live opposite an ancient woodland full of life. I am very excited to report that I have been asked by the BBC Wildlife magazine to keep a blog over the next year recording any wildlife or natural world encounters I have. I will be one of their “Local Patch Reporters”.

Team Wildlife - Local Patch ReporterLast year I saved up to buy a camera trap to try and capture some of the wildlife on film. Over the coming months I aim to bring you as much footage as I can, hopefully documenting the rich diversity of life in the wood.  I am setting out to explore my local patch to see what I can discover. I’ll aim to post weekly updates on what’s going on, and try to follow my local fallow deer herd. I hope you enjoy it as much as I’m going to.
